Nothing. DroidFX is free to install and use on your own devices, including droids and props you sell or put on display. See the Licence.

No. DroidFX is free to use but not open source. The third-party libraries it includes stay under their own licences; for the LGPL ones, their source and a re-link kit for each version are on Downloads. See Third-party notices.

With any transmitter whose receiver outputs S.BUS. You need a switch for the lights and a multi-position switch for the buttons. A FrSky ETHOS radio can also show the touch-screen button pad, with all 45 buttons.

No. The board serves its own web page; open it in any browser. There’s no account and no cloud.

No. The board makes its own WiFi network (or joins yours), and does its whole job with WiFi off. You only need the internet to read these guides or download updates.

Can I use it without lights, sound or servos?

Yes. Everything except the board and the receiver is optional. Set up what you have.

No. It has no telemetry and never contacts us or anyone else. This website doesn’t track you either. See Privacy.

Can the servos move without my transmitter?

Only in Bench mode, which you turn on from the web page and which ends when the radio comes back or you close the page. They never move in Display mode, and Stop all or losing the radio stops them where they are. See Servos.

What happens to my settings when I update?

They stay. Update over WiFi from the Firmware page; back up first anyway. See Updates & backups.
