Sequences

A sequence is a whole performance on one timeline: the dome turns at 1 s, the scream lands at 0 s, the lights go red at 1.75 s. One button plays it all.

The Sequences page puts a show on one timeline: a lane for each servo, one sound lane, and a lights lane with a row per light. Time runs left to right. Up to 16 sequences, each up to 10 minutes long. A button, Startup or Idle then plays it.

  1. + New sequence: give it a name and a length.
  2. + Add servo, move the playhead, and pose the servo with its slider: a keyframe appears.
  3. + Add sound lane, then click the lane to drop in a sound, picked by name.
  4. + Add light row for a light, then click to switch it to one of its presets.
  5. Play on droid to try it on the real droid, then Save sequence.

A dot on a servo lane is a keyframe, “be here at this moment”, and the line shows where the servo is at every moment in between.

  • Move the playhead: click or drag the ruler.
  • Pose the servos: the sliders put each servo where you want it at that moment. Tick Move the real servos to watch the droid follow.
  • Edit a keyframe: drag a dot sideways to change when, up and down to change where; click an empty part of a lane to add one. Click a dot to set it exactly, and choose how the servo gets there: Glide (smoothly from the previous keyframe) or Jump (hold still, then snap).
  • A hollow first dot means “start from wherever the servo is”.
  • Length and the end: drag the white end marker (or type a length); the sequence can run on past its last keyframe. Then choose what happens at the end: Hold, or Return to rest.

Play on droid plays the sequence as it is now, unsaved changes included, on the droid, from the playhead. Nothing is saved until you save, and it stops when you leave the editor. ▶ Test on a sequence’s card plays the saved version.

  • Sound clips name tracks by file name (see Tracks), so re-copying the card in a different order keeps them right. Click the sound lane to add a clip, pick the track from a searchable list, drag it to move it, and drag its right edge (Stop it early) to cut it short. Clips can’t overlap: the sound module plays one track at a time.
  • Each clip is sent early by the Sound offset so it’s heard on its mark. The page itself is silent; use Play on droid to hear it.
  • Light changes set a light to one of its presets, or off, until its next change. While the sequence plays, its lights win over buttons, Startup and Idle, and hand back when it ends.
  • At the playhead shows each servo’s position, the clip playing, and a live preview of every light at that moment.
  • A clip whose file isn’t on the card, or a light change whose preset was deleted, is flagged and skipped; the rest of the show plays.
  1. + New sequence: name it Dome show, length 6 s, at the end Return to rest.
  2. + Add sound lane. Click at 0 s → Dome whistle; click at 3 s → Scream, and stop it early at 1500 ms.
  3. + Add light row for Logic and Holo. Logic at 0 s → Rainbow; Holo at 0.5 s → Flicker; Logic at 4 s → Off.
  4. + Add servo Dome: at 1 s drag its slider to 2000 µs; at 3 s click the keyframe and choose Jump back to 1500.
  5. Play on droid, adjust, Save sequence. Then on Button Pad, give a button the sequence Dome show.

Saved sequences appear in the pickers on Button Pad (one to play, plus up to 4 more per button, each optionally looping) and in Startup and Idle, each saying what it does: servos, sound, lights. Each sequence’s card shows what plays it.

When two sequences move the same servo at once, the one started last drives it, and hands it back smoothly when it stops; the same goes for a light. Sequences always run at real speed: the Effect speed knob doesn’t change them, so a move stays in step with its sound.

  • A clip sounds late: raise the Sound offset.
  • A clip or light change is marked and skipped: its file isn’t on the card, or its preset was deleted. Pick another.
  • Servos don’t move: the radio must be connected, or Bench mode on. See Troubleshooting.
